When to visit the emergency room


If you or a loved one experiences any of the listed symptoms, seek treatment immediately:

Severe pain anywhere in the body
Sudden inability to speak, see, move, or walk
Sudden weakness or drooping on one side of the body
Pain in the arm or jaw
Coughing or throwing up blood
High fevers that don't respond to medication
Possible poisoning or drug/alcohol overdose
Throwing up or loose stools that do not go away
Severe allergic reactions
Possible broken bones
Serious burns or deep wounds
Heavy bleeding
Confusion
Fainting

For the following health emergencies call 911 for IMMEDIATE care:


Severe chest pain or pressure
Choking or breathing cessation
Head injury with confusion or loss of consciousness
Electric shock or lightning strike
Neck or spine injuries
